Modified Frequency Regulator Based on TIλ-TDμFF Controller for Interconnected Microgrids with Incorporating Hybrid Renewable Energy Sources

Reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases has directed energy sectors toward using renewable sources (RESs) and decreasing dependency on conventional sources. Recently, developing efficient load frequency control (LFC) schemes become essential to face reduced inertia due RESs installations. This paper presents a modified tilt fractional order (FO) integral–tilt FO derivative with filter (TFOI-TFODFF or namely TIλ-TDμFF) LFC method. Although proposed controller uses same elements standard controllers, it adopts capabilities flexibilities, including tilt, integral, derivative, filter. Thence, new structure is obtained, merging advantages both controllers. Moreover, TFOI-TFODFF employs two loops be able mitigate low-frequency as well high-frequency disturbances in power grids. Additionally, marine predator algorithm (MMPA) for optimally tuning parameters The performance MMPA enhanced terms initialization exploitation phases chaotic maps weighting factor. A two-area interconnected system case study implemented wind photovoltaic electric vehicles (EVs) contribution. compared FOPID, TID, TI-DF, FOTPID wherein offered superior controller. MPA original other competitive optimization algorithms, statistical analyses are carried out through parametric nonparametric tests.
